Why: Tujunga Canyon is heading into the hottest, driest months – when wildfire risk, erosion, and invasive regrowth can surge. EARTH DAY is our moment to show up early, remove the invasive plants that outcompete natives and add “fine fuels,” clear debris that stresses the ecosystem, and plant natives that help stabilize soil and restore habitat. This is local climate resilience: preparing the canyon to withstand summer and recover stronger.
Who: Sunland-Tujunga Forward has a vision to breathe new life into Sunland-Tujunga through collaborative action that centers equity, inclusion, and transformative relationships, inspired by the needs of our environment and all its diverse inhabitants.
