In this session, participants will experience short examples of immersive journalism and explore how perspective, environment, and proximity shape our understanding of climate justice. Through guided discussion and small-group collaboration, attendees will design their own immersive climate journalism concepts, choosing a climate issue and mapping whose voices are centered, what environment the audience is placed inside, and what emotional or civic impact the story should create.
Participants will leave with a high-level understanding of XR formats, key ethical considerations in immersive reporting, and practical frameworks for using immersive storytelling to deepen engagement with environmental equity and justice.
