Celebrate Sustainable Little Tokyo’s 7th Annual Earth Day Celebration at Little Tokyo Farmers’ Market!

Saturday, April 25 | Earth Day at Little Tokyo Farmers’ Market

From 9 am to 2 pm (during regular market hours), we’ll have local nonprofits tabling, a clothing swap, hands-on activities, performances, and a community clean-up to celebrate our planet and the plants that sustain us. Don’t forget to bring a tote bag or old t-shirt for our live screen printing station- we’ll help you upcycle it with an Earth Day design!

For those looking to dive deeper, we’ll be hosting a Bokashi Composting Workshop + A Food Scrap Natural Dye Demo. Workshop participation is $10, which gives you access to both workshops.

Bring your friends, family, and curiosity as we celebrate Earth Month together. No RSVP needed.

We recommend taking public transportation, using rideshare, or walking/biking to the event.

This plaza is not only a beloved neighborhood landmark but is also significant to art lovers, as it was designed in 1983 by the world-famous, critically-acclaimed sculptor and Los Angeles native, Isamu Noguchi (1904–1988). In the middle of his plaza, Noguchi erected a sculpture consisting of two 12-foot-tall basalt rocks – the only publicly accessible sculpture in his hometown. His sculpture’s title, To the Issei, refers to the great sacrifices the Issei (first-generation Japanese immigrants) made to support their families and the Japanese American community.
