Join Hip Hop Caucus, the Energy Justice Law and Policy Center, and Black in Environment for an evening of film, conversation, and connection during LA Climate Week.
This gathering centers Black climate storytelling as a powerful lens for understanding land, energy, and environmental justice. The evening will feature a screening of Black Soil Rising, a short film examining Black land, land loss, and the impacts of fossil fuel extraction, followed by a facilitated conversation with the film’s director Raya Salter Esq., NAACP Director of the Center for Environmental and Climate Justice Abre’ Conner, and Hip Hop Caucus Director of Storytelling & Communications Brittany Bell Suratt.
The program will transition into an Eco-Vibe mixer hosted by Black In Environment featuring music, food, drinks, and climate-focused activations. Guests can connect with local organizations, engage with creative elements, and move through a space designed for both reflection and energy.
This is more than a screening! It’s a place to meet people, exchange ideas, and build community with organizers, creatives, and community members from across Los Angeles.
Open to anyone interested in climate justice and storytelling. No prior expertise required. This curated event is for those who want to engage with creativity, sustainability, and black land ownership.
