Neighborhood and city councils across the Los Angeles region are invited to submit a letter of support for LA Climate Week — and help make climate action visible where you govern.
When councils add their voice, it signals to residents and community partners that climate action has local leadership behind it. Letters of support also contribute to a broader effort to institutionalize LA Climate Week as an annual observance across the region — building the civic foundation that makes this a lasting, recognized part of Los Angeles life, not just a one-time event.

ANY CIVIC BODY IS WELCOME
Letters of support are open to any officially constituted neighborhood or city council body in the greater
Los Angeles region.
Neighborhood Councils
All officially recognized neighborhood councils within the City of Los Angeles are encouraged to participate.
City Councils
Municipal councils across Los Angeles County — from the Antelope Valley to the South Bay, the San Gabriel Valley to the Westside — are welcome to add their voice.
Council Members
Individual council members may submit on their own behalf, noting their district or affiliation on the letter.
WHAT A STRONG LETTER INCLUDES
There’s no required format — your letter should reflect your council’s voice and your community’s relationship to these issues. A strong letter typically covers five things: who you are and what district or city you represent; why LA Climate Week resonates with your community; a clear endorsement statement; an expression of support for recognizing LA Climate Week as an annual observance; and the name, title, and contact of the signing representative.

Neighborhood councils are encouraged to share this page with their city council member and pass a motion urging the city to formally recognize LA Climate Week as an annual observance. Community members and organizations in cities across LA County can do the same — bring it to your city council and encourage them to consider a motion.
