LA Climate Week Joins California's Climate Action Counts Campaign
Every Action Counts. Make Yours Official.
LA Climate Week is built on a simple idea: climate action is already happening everywhere across Los Angeles — in classrooms and community gardens, at farmers markets and faith communities, in boardrooms and backyards. Our job is to make it visible, connected, and celebrated.
This year, we’re linking that idea to something bigger.
California Volunteers’ Climate Action Counts campaign is working to unite Californians around one million everyday climate actions — from composting at home to planting native trees to supporting local food systems. The campaign asks Californians to take a pledge committing to the actions they’re already doing, or ready to start, and to be counted as part of a statewide movement for collective impact.
LA Climate Week and Climate Action Counts are aligned around the same conviction: that climate action isn’t reserved for experts or institutions. It belongs to everyone. And when individuals act together — visibly, collectively — it adds up to something that can’t be ignored.
How They Connect
Every event on the LA Climate Week calendar is an act of climate engagement. Showing up to a policy summit, volunteering at a community garden, joining a neighborhood hike, attending a screening, or simply having a conversation you wouldn’t have had otherwise — these are exactly the kinds of actions Climate Action Counts was designed to recognize and amplify.
If you’re participating in LA Climate Week, your actions count. We want to make sure they’re counted.
What We’re Asking
Whether you’re organizing an event or attending one, we’re encouraging every LA Climate Week participant to take the Climate Action Counts pledge.
It takes two minutes. You choose the actions that are right for you — there’s no minimum commitment and no single right answer. The pledge is a way of saying: I’m part of this. My actions matter. And I want them to be part of something larger than just me.
By taking the pledge, you’re adding your voice to a statewide movement — and helping demonstrate the depth of climate engagement happening right here in Los Angeles.
How We’re Counting It
After events, participants can expect to receive short surveys asking about their experience and the actions they took or committed to. These responses are how we capture the real scope of what LA Climate Week puts into motion — and how your participation gets counted toward the broader campaign.
If you get a survey, please take a few minutes to fill it out. It’s one of the most direct ways to make your engagement visible and ensure Los Angeles shows up in the numbers that matter.
