What Makes US DIFFERENT
LA Climate Week is not a centralized conference.
It is not a gatekeeping platform.
It is a regional visibility moment — and a year-round movement — designed to:

- Normalize participation across sectors

Octavia Butler
Science fiction writer and visionary thinker Octavia Butler explored how power, responsibility, and design shape the futures we inherit. Her influence shows up in our emphasis on imagination, systems thinking, and the belief that the future is something we actively build—not passively receive.
Local Indigenous Knowledge
Traditional Ecological Knowledge reflects generations of stewardship across the Los Angeles basin and surrounding mountains, deserts, and coastlines. On the ancestral and unceded lands of the Tongva, Chumash, Tataviam, Serrano, Kizh, and Acjachemen peoples, this wisdom continues to shape how we understand place, relationship, and regeneration. It informs our commitment to climate action rooted in reciprocity—not extraction.
