About Event

The 2026 Annual Native Plant Garden Tour hosted by the Theodore Payne Foundation for Wild Flowers and Native Plants is April 11 & 12th, 2026.

Since 2004, the Theodore Payne Foundation Annual Native Plant Garden Tour has been a celebration of creativity, community, and the power of California native plants. This two-day (purchase of a ticket allows you entry to the gardens on both days), self-guided tour showcases inspiring landscapes across Greater Los Angeles, offering a unique look into how native plants can transform gardens, neighborhoods, and lives.

Now in its 23rd year, the tour features 42 gardens which encompass a diverse range of public and private spaces—from coastal container gardens to urban homesteads, lush pollinator havens to hillside restorations. Each garden is a living example of what’s possible when beauty meets ecological purpose. All featured gardens include at least 50% California native plants and reflect a range of styles, sizes, and site conditions.

Theodore Payne Foundation (TPF) is a nonprofit organization that inspires and educates Southern Californians about the beauty and ecological benefits of California native plants. Located on 22 acres of canyon land in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, the TPF headquarters includes a full-service nursery featuring native plants, seeds, and nature-themed books and merchandise, alongside display gardens, wildland hiking trails, an art gallery, indoor and outdoor educational facilities, and extensive plant production areas. Offering a wide range of public classes, garden tours, and a variety of outreach and advocacy initiatives, TPF invites all to explore the role of native plants in local ecology, aiming to make the communities of Southern California more beautiful, sustainable, and environmentally friendly.
