About Event

We’re proud to be joined by the California Native Plant Society and the San Fernando Valley Audubon Society for a celebration of community, stewardship, and our planet. Attendees will help remove invasive plants, water and mulch previously planted seedlings, and/or remove litter. We’ll have guest speakers and a food truck joining us. Plus, you can participate in fun activities like printmaking, guided nature walks, partner exhibitor tables, our River Rover museum, and more!

Volunteers will get their hands in the soil, pulling invasive plants and tending to previously planted native seedlings. Or, you might get an opportunity to remove litter from the wildlife reserve and parking areas. Every piece of litter, even one cigarette butt, and each invasive plant that you remove will have a huge impact on restoring the health of a vital habitat along the LA River! You can sign up at the check-in table to join a guided nature walk to explore and learn more about this precious ecosystem (binoculars provided)!

FoLAR works to build capacity for communities, students, and future leaders to advocate for nature, climate, and equity on the LA River. We do this through community events like nature walks, outreach booths, annual events (Earth Month, RiverFest, and Great LA River CleanUp), volunteer events (Habitat Restoration), River Rover museum, corporate group engagement, high school fellows program, and school field trips to the LA River.

Events listed on the LA Climate Week calendar are submitted by community organizers and do not represent the views or endorsements of LA Climate Week.
