A Bilingual Interactive Workshop with Clementina “Sustainable Latina”
Throughout history, people have repaired what they love. In times of scarcity, conflict, and environmental change, mending has been both an act of resistance and a source of creativity, joy, and survival.
In this 1-hour bilingual (English/Spanish) workshop, Clementina “Sustainable Latina” invites participants to explore the cultural and climate significance of repair through storytelling and hands-on practice. Drawing from global traditions such as Sashiko and Tenango-style embroidery from Tenango de Doria, participants will learn how communities across cultures have extended the life of clothing while preserving identity and resilience.
Participants will be introduced to simple visible mending techniques—including Sashiko stitching and Tenango-inspired motifs, —while learning how repairing garments can reduce textile waste, challenge fast-fashion consumption, and reconnect us to the value of what we already own.
Spaces for our incredible hands-on workshops and immersive experiences are limited. Please register in advance to secure your spot!
