About Event

Join us under the stars for a night of solidarity as we welcome the Spring and as always, CHINGA LA MIGRA/ICE OUT of LA & in the 818!

This month’s theme is Grief & Joy Can Co-Exist. We will have featured wellness practitioner @juleszeta of @alchemizeorganize lead us through a grief tending exercise to help our community process the grief we are actively experiencing during these raids and offer tools that can help us integrate grief into ways we can show up for our community.

Our Neighborhood Solidarity Market seeks to bridge solidarity and connection across our communities and build power with the people, featuring local 818 vendors selling tamales, flowers, and more!

We will have vendors in our community who will have delicious food for sale as well as a community raffle with prize bundles made by local artists.

Grief tending workshop facilitated by @juleszeta of @alchemizeorganize
Live music by El Condor de Calaucan @elcondordecalaucan

Shift Our Ways Collective

In 2020, a group of women transformed neglected lots into thriving spaces of nourishment, connection, and care, rebuilding soil through composting, mulching, and regenerative practices to grow organic, pesticide-free produce. What began as a small act of mutual aid has become the SOW Collective Backyard Farms, donating 100 percent of our harvest to community members in need and creating a neighborhood-scale food system rooted in care and reciprocity. Beyond food, we restore relationships with the land, with each other, and with ourselves through workshops, garden installations, and community gatherings. At SOW, sustainability is more than a practice. We grow food, belonging, resilience, and a future rooted in justice and joy.
